Northwest Care Management Executive Staff

Tom Johnston

Owner/President/CEO

Following graduation from the University of Washington in 1971 with a degree in Architecture, Tom began his career as an architect with several Seattle area firms specializing in design of medical facilities.

In 1975 he founded The Johnston Associates, Inc., a Bainbridge Island, WA, architectural firm specializing in design of residential and or senior congregate housing projects. His early project included the first HUD 232 co-insured assisted living community in the country.

He also formed Northwest Care Management, Inc., in 1990 to provide development, marketing, operation and management services for independent, assisted living and Alzheimer’s projects. To date, he has been involved in the design, development and/or operation of more than 35 assisted living projects in three states and Canada.

Darah Cooney

Vice President of Corporate Operations

Darah oversees the corporate operations for Northwest Care Management with over 14 years experience. She is responsible for property ownership relations, overseeing development and marketing for each Northwest Care managed property. Darah is a graduate of Cal Lutheran University, with a BA in Marketing.


Tom Oldham

Owner

Tom, has over 35 years of experience in capitol and expense management and human resources in healthcare and other sectors. He is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University with a BA in Business Administration.

Sigrid Howard

Director of Operations

Sigrid has over 20 years of experience in the assisted living/dementia field. She oversees the operational management of Northwest Care's facilities, assuring compliance with all Federal, State and local requirements and hiring, training and supervising the facility administrators. Furthermore, she provides clinical, regulatory and quality assurance guidelines as needed by each community. Sigrid is a licensed Washington State Nursing Home Administrator and has been a successful senior care manager for the past 14 years.


Mary Lumadue

Director of Finance

Mary has over 14 years experience in the accounting field and has been with Northwest Care Management for over 13 years. She is responsible for all of the accounting functions for each facility managed as well as that of Northwest Care Management. She is a graduate of Western Washington University with a BA in Accounting.


Delia McGinnisDelia McGinnis

Corporate Director of Clinical Programs

Dee has been a nurse for over 35 years. She has begun her career as an Army nurse. Dee has worked with seniors for 29 years in a variety of long term care settings. Dee has held positions as staff development coordinator, director of nursing services, regional nurse consultant and vice president of nursing with several multifacility national nursing companies. She has spent the last ten years as a regional and corporate nurse consultant in assisted living.

Ellen Oconer

Accounting Manager

Ellen has over 13 years experience in the accounting field. She interfaces with the Business Manager of each facility and currently handles accounts payable and accounts receivable for our buildings. She is a graduate of California State University Northridge with a bachelor in Finance/Accounting.


Ivy AdamsIvy Adams

Accounting Specialist

Ivy is responsible for both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Ivy comes to Northwest Care with over 11 years of accounting experience, both local and international. Along with Ivy’s accounting degree, she is also a certified ISO Internal Auditor.


Jo Ann Gass

Lead Bookkeeper

Jo Ann has over 15 years experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable. She has been with Northwest Care Management for over six years and works closely with the Business Manager of each facility.


Kimberly Scholl

Human Resources Coordinator

Kim oversees Human Resources for Northwest Care Management. She is responsible for HR coordination for all the properties as well as the day-to-day operations of the corporate office. Kim is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Kearney with a BA in Business and Marketing.


Tyler Johnston

Corporate Operations Support

Tyler oversees all of the production of Northwest Care Management’s marketing and advertising materials. He is involved with the design through production process for Northwest Care Management’s media. Tyler is a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder with a BA in International Affairs.
